Day 1 – Upper Cross Syndrome – Workshop overview and techniques including information from Erik Dalton’s newly released 3rd edition “Advanced Myoskeletal Techniques” textbook. Video and power point presentation explains how painful head, neck, TMJ and thoracic outlet problems develop due to compensations known as “Upper Cross Syndromes.” Techniques for mobilizing soft tissue restricting joint motion in the spine, known as the Dirty Dozen are the most popular of Dalton’s techniques taught.
Day 2 – Lower Cross Syndrome – Low back, SI joint and hip capsule pain caused by a Lower Cross or “swayback posture” is the focus of the second day. Fixated lumbar and SI joints cause protective spasm further compressing the spine causing low back, hip and leg pain. Therapists will learn techniques to restore balance and symmetry to all lower crossed muscles.
