Licensed Acupuncturist

Jingwei Jia photoJingwei Jia LAc – Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc)
Jingwei (Jenni) Jia was born in China, the birthplace of acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). In 1990, Jenni began studies at Beijing Broadcast Institute and earned a Bachelor degree in both Education and Journalism in 1995. After four years of teaching English, she moved to the United States.

Although Jenni always intended to work in a helping profession, alternative medicine is her priority. In 2005, she started to study acupuncture. In addition to being an apprentice and studying acupuncture in Beijing, China, in 2007, Jenni’s clinical experience from Guang An Men TCM Hospital and TCM-Western Integrative Hospital were invaluable to understanding and practicing acupuncture. In February 2008 after three years of study, she graduated with top honors from the American Institute of Alternative Medicine’s Master Level Acupuncture Program in Columbus, Ohio. Nationally certified by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), she is licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio to practice acupuncture. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist in Ohio, specializing in Tuina (acupressure).

Jenni believes that acupuncture is not only effective for treating all types of pain, but many other conditions. As an excellent first treatment choice that can be used to avoid surgery, acupuncture gives people hope in being well again, when they thought they were out of options. As a TCM Acupuncturist, Jenni is excited to offer acupuncture to the Findlay area and surrounding communities.

Licensed Esthetician

Janet PhotoJanet Kolesar Lis – LMT, NCBTMB, RYT 500

After attending Youngstown State University, Janet pursued a career as a Marketing Representative for a large industrial company located in Eastern Ohio. Although successful in this field, Janet’s interest in health and fitness prompted her to attend educational training courses that led to certification in kick boxing, spinning, step aerobics, and jazzercise. For ten years, Janet worked full time and taught fitness on a part time basis. Following her first love–she changed her career path to work full time in health and wellness.

Janet was licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board in 1982, after studies at the National Institute of Massotherapy in Akron, Ohio. Following an apprenticeship, Janet relied on her education and experiences in marketing to develop her own clientele and open the Family Massotherapy Clinic. Recognizing the need for full body conditioning and stress reduction, Janet expanded the business with Yoga and Pilates training under Stott Pilates. Janet is now registered with Yoga Alliance, having attended several Yoga certification courses in Cleveland, Ohio. Once Janet completed 1000 hours of training in yoga and pilates, she opened the Joy of Life Wellness Center in Boardman, Ohio.

Janet relocated to Findlay in 2002 and then worked as an independent contractor with a focus on wellness programs for businesses in the area. With a desire to expand her knowledge and education in wellness through skin care, she enrolled at the Fremont, Ohio, Academy of Esthetics, graduating after 750 hours with a National Board License as a Managing Esthetician.

Janet’s true love is “skin care.” Her continuing education courses focus on keeping the body and skin youthful and healthy. With a belief in the process of rejuvenation, Janet became an instructor in Esthetics, which adds 500 hours of preventative and corrective skin care training. Proficient in a holistic approach that makes use of herbal and vitamin supplements, Janet believes that these dietary supplements complement efforts for physical well-being and skin care.

Janet’s dedication to total health motivated her in August 2010 to join the team at the Wellness Center, where her multi-faceted background and training enhances the services of the Center.

David retired from factory work on February 1, 2004. During 31 years of manual labor, the last nineteen of which he served on the factory’s Health and Wellness Committee, he looked for ways to stay healthy and ways to help others be more productive as a result of the wellness program.

A runner since age 25, David competed in races and participated in the 1983 Boston Marathon. As a runner, he looks for ways to run faster while developing proper muscle use. When his muscles are tight, massage helps to keep them lengthened and flexible. Massage’s most salutary benefit is the release of upper body muscles, enabling David to run with agility.

Observing the fruits of a good massage, he decided to become a Massage Therapist several years before retirement. To prepare for a second career, David graduated from the Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy in 2002. He has been practicing since January 2003.

Along with the intensive training to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, he pursued other related coursework: Advanced Sports Massage; Muscle Release Technique; Hydrotherapy; Reflexology; Infant and Pregnancy Massage; Chair Massage; Myopractic Deep Muscle Therapy & Postural Balancing; as well as Somatic and Myofascial Release.
Having completed 140 hours of Lymph Drainage Therapy at the Upledger Institute, Inc., he is certified to work on clients with incomplete lymph systems or edema.

After the 14-day course, David passed the National test, becoming the first Nationally Certified Master Medical Massage Therapist in Ohio. Certification enables David to work on the patients of other medical professionals. His goals are to earn a place in the medical community of Northwest Ohio, build bridges with local healthcare providers, and create more well-being for their patients.

In order to work with Orthopedic Massage and Pain Management, David completed 100 hours of direct training with James Waslaski at his Center for Pain Management and became the first certified Orthopedic Massage Therapist in Ohio. Currently, David is studying with Erik Dalton on his specialty—Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques—at the Freedom from Pain Institute. With certification in Medical Massage, Orthopedic Massage, and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, David hopes to combine the wisdom of these therapies into a whole-body treatment program.

Massage–David’s passion–is fueled by the profound satisfaction of helping others achieve a healthier life. The decision to open the Wellness Center was the culmination of a lifetime devoted to a healthy personal life and public service.

Krista Stallard photoKrista J. Stallard LMT
While in college where she was majoring in art, Krista received her first massage, which awakened a desire to share this powerful healing practice with others. After two years of experiencing the benefits of massage, Krista decided to change career directions and pursue massage therapy. Graduating from the Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy in October 2006, she became licensed by The Ohio State Medical Board in January 2007. She is also a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

Krista continued her education to become certified in prenatal massage, offering expectant mothers drug-free alternatives to ease the aches and pains of pregnancy. With Michael Young, she has studied the highly effective Muscle Release Technique, which forms the foundation of her work in therapeutic massage to relieve chronic pain. Krista also offers CranioSacral Therapy, a light-touch modality for those who need relief from pain and dysfunction, or want overall whole-body health and wellness.

Additionally, Krista attended the first annual virtual World Massage Conference in 2008, where she studied the techniques and principles of more than 50 massage expert. The more she learns about massage therapy, the more Krista is convinced of the healing power of touch. In her work as a massage therapist, one of Krista’s greatest joys is being able to offer clients an opportunity for healing that goes beyond just an hour of relaxation.

Mary E. Snoke LMT
Mary graduated from The University of Findlay in 2001 with bachelor degrees in biology, pre-medicine, and psychology. After graduating from the Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy in 2002, she was licensed to practice Swedish massage, certified in Muscle Release Technique, and trained in both pregnancy and sports massage.

For Mary, massage is one aspect of a life devoted to serving others. Initially, Mary practiced massage therapy independently, working closely with a renowned chiropractor who focused on accidental injury rehabilitation. This work exposed Mary to a wide range of massage techniques from the treatment of repetitive motion disorders, to the treatment of sports injuries in athletes. To make each visit beneficial to clients, she employs a variety of stretches, deep tissue manipulation, trigger point release, friction, and kneading in each massage. Mary specializes in deep tissue massage to achieve both healing and relaxation.

Mary’s practice springs from her core beliefs in holistic living. For her, massage is a component of a healthy lifestyle, which includes regular physical exercise, a lifelong love of learning, a nutritious diet emphasizing both health and appearance, an openness to others in community and, of course, the healing and restorative power of touch.

John Perez photoJohn L. Perez LMT
In 2004 at a golf resort, John first experienced the benefits of massage therapy and recalls being impressed with the results. Enjoying positive outcomes numerous times over the following years, he decided to learn more about healing touch to relieve pain, decrease stress, and promote healing. In April 2007, John graduated from Stautzenberger College in Maumee, Ohio, and earned his Massage Therapy License with the State of Ohio Medical Board in July 2007.

Upon receiving his state board licensure, John worked independently and clinically in the chiropractic field in the Toledo area for the three years. Relocating to Findlay, John joined the team at the Wellness Center with David Clinger and associates. His desire to further his knowledge in range of motion issues, stress relief, and pain control has lead him to assist clients in regaining the quality of life they desire. Massage therapy training and ongoing education have opened doors for John to actively pursue a nursing degree.

John is also training with Dr. Erik Dalton and increasing his knowledge of Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, which are efficient and effective tools to help people address pain.
